Solution

RapidSSL certificates are available from the User Portal for all Partner orders, or if the order was placed directly with RapidSSL previous to June 2016.  Orders placed after June 2016 will be available from a RapidSSL Security Center account.  Please download the certificate using the appropriate method.

Method 1: Download a certificate from the RapidSSL Security Center.

For orders placed directly with RapidSSL after June 2016, please use the steps below to download the certificate.
 

  1. Visit the RapidSSL Security Center
  2. Provide the username and password for the account.
  3. Select the certificate from the list.
  4. Below Available Actions select Download certificate.
  5. Below Ready to download and install? select the Get Started button to download the certificate.  If the certificate will be sent to a third party for installation, use the forward this link to receive a URL that will allow the third party to download the certificate directly in the required format.
  6.  The next page will be titled Download certificate.  From the Select server platform dropdown, select the server platform where the certificate will be installed.  If the platform is unknown, Other - X.509 is the common format that can be installed in most environments.
  7. Once a server platform & version are selected a Download button will display.  Select the Download button and the browser will prompt to save a .ZIP file.  Within the .ZIP are the certificate files. 

    PRIVATE KEY:  RapidSSL will never have access to private keys.  The certificate installation will require the private key.  A private key is generated along side the Certificate Signing Request (CSR) and would only be available from the machine used to generate the CSR.  Please contact the person who generated the CSR as they would have generated the private key.  If the private key can not be located, please generate a new private key & CSR and Replace the certificate.
     
  8. Extract the .ZIP file and install the certificate.

Method 2: Download a certificate from the User Portal

For all Partner orders, and orders placed directly with RapidSSL previous to June 2016, please use the steps below to download the certificate.

To download a RapidSSL Certificate from the User Portal, perform the steps bellow:

  1. Visit the RapidSSL User Portal
  2. Provide the Common Name or Order Number, Technical Contact Email Address associated with the certificate order and the Image Number generated from the GeoTrust User Authentication page. 

    NOTE:  If access is requested using the Common Name there will be a list of order numbers for that domain.  Please select the most recent order.  Any previous orders that are listed can not be used to download the certificate.  If access is requested with an Order Number, an email will be sent to access that order.
     
  3. Select Request Access against the correct order ID.
  4. An email will be sent to the Technical Contact email address specified.
  5. Click on the link listed in the email to enter the User Portal
  6. Click View Certificate Information.


     
  7. Select the appropriate PKCS#7 or X.509 format from the drop down menu depending on the server requirements.
